Artist
At the avant-garde of musical research, Oksana Sidyagina seamlessly merges traditional techniques with innovative practices, pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. Her performances on pedal and electric harp merging performances and installations redefine our perception of sound and space.
Exhibition
The exhibition “Invisibles” was organised in September 2023 by Galérie Dauphine, an ephemeral gallery run by students of Executive Master in Art Wealth Management taught at University Paris-Dauphine PSL in partnership with auction house Christie’s. The title of the exhibition “Invisibles” (The invisible) asked visitors about the relationship between the manifest and the hidden, the known and the unknown. The chosen theme connected the public to the intimacy of the soul and the secret links we forge with the world around us.
Participating artists include Bryce Delplanque, Pauline-Rose Dumas, John Fou, François Malingrey, Mateo Revillo, Sarah Valente, and Rayan Yasmineh.
Concept of the project
Invited to perform at the opening of the exhibition, Oksana had an idea to set up an installation using the iconic Delta by Salvi Harps. Using threads and fishing lines, she wove a complex web around the electric harp. Invisible from some viewpoints, the threads kept strings paralyzed – until Oksana liberated them during the performance by cutting threads right on the spot, creating a transformative journey inside our memories – imagined or real ones.
The performance was set against the backdrop of paintings by Bryce Delplanque (Four Branch Brass Chandelier, $275.00 (2023), Hudson Valley Flint Lock Fowling Piece with Curly Maple Stock $30 (2023)).
